What Saywork collects
Saywork is free. In return, when you sign in and agree, what you do with it is sent to us and used to fix Saywork and to train its models. This page lists exactly what that is. It is asked once, with a box you tick yourself, and Saywork cannot be used without it.
What Saywork keeps
- Your dictations. What you said as it was heard, the cleaned-up text that was typed, the recording of your voice, which kind of app you were typing in, and how long it was.
- Your requests to the agent. What you asked, the steps it took (a line describing each, and how long it took), its plan, its own working notes, how it ended, how long it took and what it cost, and the AI's own replies and reasoning while it worked. Also what it learned for next time — the steps that worked — which is sent back to your app to make a similar request faster. All of this is sent when the request ends; your computer keeps only what you asked, the answer, when, how it ended and the time it saved you.
- The agent's memory. Each fact the agent saves about you — for example your working hours, or which account is which — when it is saved. It is also kept on your computer, where you can see, change and delete it.
- Your jobs. The sentence you gave, the milestones it was split into, how each one ended and what proved it, how long and how much it took, and whether it paused or asked you something — not what the question said.
- Feedback you choose to send. Now and then Saywork asks how it is working for you — after your tenth dictation, after your first finished agent task, right after a task that failed or that you stopped, and after a few days of use, never more than a few times a month and never while you are dictating or a task is running. You can also open it yourself, or say “I have feedback”. Answering is always optional, and “Don't ask again” stops the asking. What you send is your words (said or typed), the tag you pick, which of those moments asked, your Saywork and Windows versions, the app's language and which feature you used last. After a task that failed or was stopped, it also includes how that task ended and the names of the steps that failed — not what the task was, what it did or what it saw.
- A screenshot, only if you attach one. The feedback card has a box, off unless you tick it, that attaches a picture of Saywork's own main window. Nothing else on your screen is captured. It is stored with your account and deleted with it.
- Your account. Your Google name, email address and profile picture.
- This computer. Its name, your Windows version and your Saywork version.
- Usage. How many requests you made to the speech and AI models, to keep use fair.
- Which features you use. Counts per day, with a short category: dictations and their mode and language, the kind of agent task (browser, email, documents and so on, worked out from the tools it used), meetings recorded, questions asked, notes and reminders saved, voice shortcuts run, song look-ups (found or not), dictations done on this computer without a connection, whether the Chrome helper connected, and how far you got through the welcome. Never what was said, asked, noted or looked up, and never which song.
Before you sign in, and on our website
- One install count. The first time Saywork starts on a computer, it sends one anonymous "installed" count with its version number. No account, no name, no device id, and it is never sent again.
- Visits to getsaywork.com. The site counts page views and presses of its download buttons itself — no cookies, no advertising or analytics companies. Each count carries the page, its language, the name of the site that linked to it (not the full address) and a campaign tag if the link had one. To tell visitors apart for one day only, your address and browser name are mixed with a random value that is replaced every day and deleted after two, and only the result is kept. Browsers set to "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control are not counted at all. Individual counts are deleted after 35 days; daily totals are kept.
What is never sent
- The contents of files the agent reads or writes.
- Screenshots, and the text of web pages the agent reads. (The one exception is a picture of Saywork's own window that you attach to feedback yourself.)
- Meeting audio and meeting transcripts. Only that a meeting was recorded is counted.
- Your notes, reminders, dictionary and saved logins. They stay on your computer; only how many notes and reminders you save is counted.
- Anything from a service you connect — your mail, calendar, documents, messages, tasks or payments. It goes from that service to your agent and nowhere else, and a run that used one is not kept at all.
One thing to know: the AI's replies are kept, and while it works it sometimes describes what it is looking at. So a reply can mention something from a page or a file. The page or file itself is not sent, and text the agent writes into a file is removed from its reply before upload.
Why
To run Saywork, to find and fix what goes wrong, and to improve and train the models behind it, including recognising voices, accents and languages better. Nothing is sold, and nothing is used for advertising.
Who handles it
- The Saywork team can see it, through a password-protected admin panel.
- Groq turns your speech into text and cleans it up. DeepSeek runs the agent, and sorts the feedback you send into topics so we can see what comes up most. Each sees what it needs to answer a request, under its own terms.
- Cloudflare runs Saywork's servers and stores the data. Google handles sign-in.
How it is stored
Compressed on your computer, sent over an encrypted connection, and stored as it arrived. It is kept until you delete it or delete your account.
While the agent works, what it keeps on your computer — its progress, its plan, what it has read, and a finished request waiting to be sent — is encrypted with a key that only your account on that computer can unlock. Once our server confirms it has received a finished request intact, the copy on your computer is deleted. Saywork's own log file on your computer records what happened and when, for support, but not what you said or asked or what the AI wrote.
Export or delete it
Both are buttons in the app, under Settings → Account:
- Export saves your content — your dictations and voice recordings, the requests you gave the agent (what you typed or said, and when), notes, meetings, memory, dictionary, snippets and settings — to a folder on your computer. It does not include the agent's own work: its steps, the actions it took, screenshots or its answers.
- Delete my recordings removes every voice recording sent so far.
- Delete my account removes your account and everything above. It cannot be undone.
When the app is closed or offline
Nothing is sent while Saywork is not running. Offline, or if Saywork is closed before a finished request has been sent, what would have been sent waits on your computer — encrypted, for an agent request — and goes when the connection returns or Saywork next starts.
Closing Saywork's window does not stop it: it keeps running from the tray, and so do your jobs. Two settings, both off until you turn them on, change what runs in the background:
- Keep jobs running in the background starts Saywork at login with no window, so a job waiting on a time, a file, a web page or a notification can carry on while you are elsewhere. While a job only waits, nothing is sent. When it wakes, its next step works exactly like a task you gave it yourself, and anything that sends, posts, pays or deletes still asks you first.
- Watch Windows notifications lets Saywork read the notifications other apps show. The app name and title are kept on your computer, to notice when you always do the same thing after one — Saywork then suggests it, and never turns it on by itself. A notification's text is used only by a job that was waiting for it, as part of that job's next step. Notifications are never among what Saywork keeps.
Both are in Settings → System, and each stops the moment you turn it off.
