SAYWORK / SAYCODE
Say what to build.
Watch it get built.
SayCode is Saywork's coding agent for your terminal. It reads your project, makes the change, runs the checks and shows you every step while it works.
npm install -g https://getsaywork.com/saycode.tgzThree steps
1. Install. Paste the command above into any terminal: PowerShell, Terminal on a Mac, or your Linux shell.
2. Sign in with your Saywork account. Run saycode login. Your browser opens the Saywork sign-in you already use; there is no new account and no API key.
3. Open your project and say what you want. Run saycode in the project folder and type the job, or hold your Saywork dictation key and say it. Saywork types it into the terminal like anywhere else.
What you get
A live view of the work. Every file it reads or edits and every command it runs appears as it happens, with the time elapsed, so a long step never looks like a hang.
Follow-ups that remember. Ask for the next change in the same session and SayCode keeps the context.
Your voice, hands-free. With the Saywork app running, dictation works in the terminal exactly as it does in email or chat.
Your account, your machine. Your sign-in is kept in your system's own credential store (Windows Credential Manager, macOS Keychain or Linux Secret Service), never in a plain file. SayCode runs on free coding models and never uses your paid Saywork balance.
Commands
saycode open a session in this folder
saycode run "task" do one job and exit
saycode login sign in with your Saywork account
saycode status show who is signed in
saycode logout sign this terminal out
saycode help everything else
"saycode" is not recognised after installing
Open a new terminal window so it picks up the updated PATH. If it is still missing, check that node --version prints 22 or newer and run the install command again.
The credential store is unavailable
SayCode will not save your sign-in in plain text. On Linux, install and unlock a Secret Service keyring (GNOME Keyring or KWallet); on macOS, unlock your login keychain.
How do I update?
Run the same install command again.
